As we start the year off, let me give you some help with studying English by sharing five tips for memorising verbs.

Create a mimic for a verb and use it while learning.

This is a great way of memorising verbs or vocabulary, especially for any person that learns or understands easily by moving or using their body.

You assign a mimic to a verb and try to use it as much as you can when you are learning or practising.

Use verbs in a meaningful sentence and/or read as much as you can.

The best way of internalising verbs or vocabulary is by using words in context.

For this, you can either choose to read aloud.

This way you will start understanding and recognising more and more actions.

Or create fun or special sentences that make sense to you.

Those sentences can include the name of your friends, your favourite TV show character or something meaningful to you.

Group verbs in different categories.

Grouping verbs into different occasions or situations can help you remember when to use them.

Even associating the opposite verbs can result in a meaningful exercise.

Test yourself to know how much you have learnt.

One important habit that we must develop is to get used to testing yourselves from time to time to check how much we have learnt.

Finally, a good tip for visual learners is to associate objects with verbs.

You can have a look at the objects around you and write as many verbs as you can that remind you of those objects.
